1935
Family and commercial origins
Henrique Zugman arrives in Brazil with his family from Europe and, together with his children, begins commercial activities in the south of the country. With an entrepreneurial spirit and strong family values, he lays the foundations for a legacy that, decades later, would become one of Brazil’s leading wood industry groups.
1953
Entry into the wood industry
The Zugman family begins industrial production of beds, marking its definitive entry into the wood sector and the start of the group’s industrial journey.

1960 - 1990
Expansion and consolidation
The Zugman Group expands its operations with the acquisition of the Lavrama door factory. In the following decades, it inaugurates three new industrial units and begins exporting plywood to the demanding markets of the US and Europe.
2004
Pioneering sustainable practices
Lavrasul becomes one of the first three companies in Brazil, across all sectors, to obtain FSC® certification. It is also the first wooden door manufacturer in the country to eliminate the use of native species, reinforcing its commitment to responsible forest management and environmental preservation.
